New Starts
Here are my goals....

30 days:

30 times to the gym for a minimum of 30 min. workout
Eat 3 meals per day (at least)
drink 3 glasses of water per day (12 oz.) (this will increase over time. currently i dont drink water regularly)


and then i will have lots of little goals along the way.

i need to lose about 40-50 lbs which i hope to do by jan 2008. i think about 35-40, but according to charts and things i see, i should be less than i even target for. gross.

im not really looking at that though, im just trying to meet my fitness goals right now. like just getting to the gym. like being able to use the elliptical machine for more than 3 minutes. like being able to walk on the treadmill for 30mins everyday. (im able to do that now, but i need to sustain it)

im not discouraged. im happy. i like who i am. but i need to be healthy. and strong. so i dont need to always ask my wife to help me carry stuff : )

Hi guys,

I am starting this community in order to have a support community for fitness and health! Several of my friends (LJ and real-life) are trying to live healthier lifestyles, and I think that having a strong support system will make things easier.

I'm going to start things off by listing my goals for the month of January:

-Bike to and from work every day that weather permits.

-Eat one large, veggie-loaded salad per day.

-Eat two servings of fruit per day.

-Get to the gym at least four times a week.

-Stop "boredom eating."

-Be able to do 45 minutes of cardio without feeling like I'm going to die.

So, that's me. To help myself keep track of this stuff, I joined the National Body Challenge on discovery.com. It's helpful in figuring out healthy meals and workout plans, which is great, but I'm only following it loosely and using the fitness and weight tracking tools.

Anyhow, feel free to state your goals or talk about anything related to health or fitness here. I just want this to be a friendly forum where we can help each other stay on track.
